Hisilicon Technologies and Huawei Technologies are conducting their first workshop (VCVP2008) to provide a forum for sharing design, standardization, application, and implementation aspects of video coding and video processing. VCVP2008 is sponsored by Huawei Technologies and will be held on Nov. 26-28, 2008 on the campus of Huawei Technologies, Shenzhen, China. The objective of the workshop is to bring together researchers and developers from academia and industry working in all areas of image, video and their applications, with a special focus on video coding/processing/delivery.

The technical program committee invites researchers from academia and industry to contribute innovative and original papers in subject areas including (but not limited to) the following:
· The future of video coding (trends, challenges, standards and future coding tools)
· Video over wireless networks
· Implementation of HD H.264/AVS
· Subjective assessment of video quality
· Visual coding
· High dynamic range image and video processing
· Video enhancement
· Tracking and recognition in video
· Digital watermarking

Important Dates:
Prospective authors are invited to submit full-length papers including results, figures and references. Papers will be accepted only by electronic submission. Please email your manuscripts in PDF to vcvp2008@huawei.com with the email subject as "VCVP2008 paper submission". Submission of a paper should be regarded as an undertaking that, should the paper be accepted, at least one of the authors will register to VCVP2008 and attend the workshop to present the work. Accepted papers will be published by the Huawei Technologies and made available through workshop webpage. There is no registration fee for all sessions of workshop, but registration email should be sent to organizer at vcvp2008@huawei.com before registration deadline.

· Acceptance notification: October 9, 2008(extended to Nov. 5,2008)
· Camera Ready papers Due: October 21,2008(extended to Oct. 30,2008)

Workshop Sessions: Workshops will include presentations, keynotes and posters on specific focused areas. Proposals and suggestions for workshops should be sent to Philipp Zhang by September 20, 2008. Detailed guidelines for submission will be provided in the workshop webpage at http://www.hisilicon.com/vcvp.html.

Demo Sessions:VCVP 2008 will introduce demonstrations. The purpose of demos is to give presenters from the technical sessions the opportunity to showcase live demonstrations of their contributions. Prospective demo participants should fill out and submit a demo application form which will be included in the conference webpage. At least one of the people presenting the demo must be registered for the workshop.

Tutorial Session: Tutorials will be given by invited experts in state-of-the-art video coding and video networking techniques on November 26, 2008.
