HiSilicon’s chipset is now supporting the latest generation of codec standard AVS2.0 for full-4K HDR broadcasting in China.
Video Codec Standard of China
AVS is the short for Audio Video Coding Standard of China, AVS and AVS+ have been defined and used in China broadcasting system for many years.
AVS2.0 is the latest generation of codec standard for Full-4K video, with the compression ratio slightly higher than HEVC/H.265, and much simply IPR policy, lower license fee.
AVS2.0 will be the most important industrial video codec standard in China. AVS2.0 has already been supported by Hisilicon Set-top Box chipset Hi3796MV200 and Hisilicon TV chipset.
SLF HDR Standard
SLF HDR is a type of HDR video standard been defined in AVS2.0, and it can provide more details in dark area than other HDR standards.
SLF HDR is easy to be integrated in the chipset, and SLF HDR has also been supported by Hisilicon Set-top Box chipset Hi3796MV200 and Hisilicon TV chipset.
