HiSilicon Attends International Conference on 8K UHD Video

[ShenZhen, China, December 15, 2020]HiSilicon participated in the 2019 Shenzhen International Conference on 8K UHD Video Industry Development. The conference, which was co-hosted by HUAWEI, China Electronics Standardization Institute (CESI), and Shenzhen CESI Information Technology, focused on core 8K UHD technologies with "Lead the 8K Era — New Possibilities" as the theme. The conference consisted of one topic meeting, four thematic sessions, and a closing meeting. During the conference, the participants discussed the opportunities and challenges facing the 8K UHD industry.

The topic meeting was attended by He Xiaoxiang, Vice President of HUAWEI Consumer Business Group, along with entrepreneurs and experts from all over the world. Together, they scrutinized the latest 8K UHD technologies, analyzed the current state of the industry, and predicted future development trends.

During the meeting, the Shenzhen 8K UHD Video Industry Cooperation Alliance (SUCA) was formally established by a group of industry-leading enterprises including HiSilicon, Skyworth, KONKA, Tencent, and ZTE, as well as innovative organizations and institutes. The SUCA will create new opportunities to implement the AI+8K strategy, thereby greatly strengthening the industry. By promoting cooperative innovation and the pooling of resources domestically and internationally, the SUCA will contribute to the collaborative development of enterprises across industries.

The topic meeting was followed by four parallel sessions, which were hosted by HUAWEI, Tencent, Skyworth, and CESI respectively. Themes included 8K UHD industrial chipsets and applications, 8K UHD content supply and delivery, 8K UHD smart devices, and 8K UHD standards, testing, and certification. During these sessions, participants discussed key issues facing the industry and provided suggestions for building a UHD video industry ecosystem.
