On November 8, 2019, HiSilicon and the Jiangsu Broadcasting Cable Information Network (JSCN) joined forces to launch a set-top box (STB) named "Cable Genie" — the first STB in China to feature an AI smart speaker. This collaborative project was driven by both parties' desire to break new ground within the industry.

The STB integrates 4Kp60 ultra-HD (UHD) technology, a JBL speaker, and an AI intelligent voice system. As well as traditional cable TV services, it supports all kinds of innovative applications and services, including four-screen live streaming, voice searches, Bluetooth speakers, wireless projection, smart home services, and emergency broadcasts. The new product is expected to improve the multi-screen ecosystem, popularize UHD technology for STBs, and contribute to the creation of a smart home ecosystem.
